 At Chicago Kittens Cattery, we understand that every family’s situation is unique. Whether you prefer to welcome your new kitten in person or need safe delivery to your home, we’re dedicated to ensuring a smooth, caring, and stress-free process.

Our kittens’ comfort and safety are always our top priority, from our cattery to your arms.

 If you live too far to pick up your kitten in person, we proudly offer nationwide and Canadian delivery through trusted airlines and professional pet transport services. Our goal is to make the adoption process easy, secure, and convenient for every new kitten parent.

Your kitten can be shipped to the closest airport near you or hand-delivered directly to your home, depending on your preference and location.

Delivery costs vary depending on your county, state, or province. In most cases, kittens arrive within 8 to 10 hours from the time of departure.

Please note that minor delays may occur due to weather conditions, airline scheduling, or routine health checks. We always recommend confirming flight details with the airline before heading to the airport for pickup.

 Before a kitten can be shipped by air, the following requirements must be met:

1. The kitten must be at least 9 weeks and 4 days old

2. The kitten must have a veterinarian Health or Acclimation Certificate

3. Some airlines have temperature restrictions and will check weather forecasts to ensure safe travel conditions

 Shipping costs are based on several factors, including:

1. The veterinarian Health or Acclimation Certificate

2. The travel kennel or crate size and weight

3. Airfreight charges, which depend on the combined weight of the kitten and the crate (larger or older kittens may cost slightly more)

We provide a detailed cost estimate before shipping.

 We understand that shipping a kitten can make new families nervous, but rest assured, your kitten’s well-being is our highest priority.

All of our transportation partners follow strict live animal care procedures to ensure safe and comfortable travel. Kittens are shipped in temperature-controlled cargo compartments that are secure, quiet, and monitored throughout the flight.

Whenever possible, we choose direct flights to minimize travel time and avoid unnecessary layovers.

We also offer ground transportation through trusted pet couriers who specialize in caring for live animals. Their climate-controlled vehicles operate on planned routes, ensuring every kitten travels safely and comfortably.

Before travel, each kitten is:

• Examined by a licensed veterinarian

• Given a full health clearance and travel certificate

• Placed in a clean, soft, and comfortable travel kennel

• Supplied with light food, water, and bedding

When your kitten arrives, they will be calm, healthy, and ready to bond with their new family.

If you prefer to pick up your kitten directly from Chicago Kittens Cattery, we welcome you to schedule a visit once your kitten is ready to go home.

Our kittens are typically ready for pickup between 10 and 12 weeks of age, once they’ve been fully weaned, vet-checked, and cleared for adoption.

When picking up in person, you will:

• Receive your kitten’s health records, vaccination certificates, and registration papers

• Have the opportunity to meet your kitten’s environment and ask any questions

• Receive a kitten care package, including starter food, toys, and care tips

We kindly ask that you bring a secure pet carrier to ensure your kitten’s comfort and safety during the trip home.

All pickup appointments must be scheduled in advance so we can prepare your kitten and paperwork before you arrive.
